Genre: Romance/Paranormal
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Description:
When Leeds meets Layla, he’s convinced he’ll spend the rest of his life with her—until an unexpected attack leaves Layla fighting for her life. After weeks in the hospital, Layla recovers physically, but the emotional and mental scarring has altered the woman Leeds fell in love with. In order to put their relationship back on track, Leeds whisks Layla away to the bed-and-breakfast where they first met. Once they arrive, Layla’s behavior takes a bizarre turn. And that’s just one of many inexplicable occurrences.

Feeling distant from Layla, Leeds soon finds solace in Willow—another guest of the B&B with whom he forms a connection through their shared concerns. As his curiosity for Willow grows, his decision to help her find answers puts him in direct conflict with Layla’s well-being. Leeds soon realizes he has to make a choice because he can’t help both of them. But if he makes the wrong choice, it could be detrimental for all of them.

Review:
📚 This one did not do it for me.

Romance mixed with paranormal attributes.

In the beginning I was confused as to what was going on because the chapters were flipping from the future ("The Interview") to the present. I wasn't sure if I should dislike Leeds because in the interview chapters Layla was tied up and I was just feeling like a big ole question mark. As the book went on I thought some parts were a bit repetitive. Leeds mostly cared about himself and we didn't get a further look into anything about Layla's life, other than her life with Leeds. Then when we found out that Leeds was falling in love with Willow and out of love with Layla, I thought it was kind of weird and messed up.

I will say that it did take a turn when we found out that Willow was actually Sable. I didn't expect that one. That helped my rating of the book.

The rest of the book was enjoyable - Layla finding her way back to Leeds and them moving to a whole new state and starting over.

Personally, I wouldn't read again but I would recommend it because other readers might find it more enjoyable!
